I had bunion surgery in May 2008, so this video shows how I’m doing almost two years later. For those of you who want specifics: it was a Scarf/Akin procedure. I have two screws in my foot and one in my toe. I was awake during the surgery, which lasted one hour. The pain was fairly bad the first day or two but was manageable. I could walk with two crutches after about two weeks and could walk with one crutch after about six weeks. The movement in my big toe joint is fine for walking, running, dancing, etc., and I can wear normal shoes including high heels. PS: the tattoo is from last year!
